What's the difference between Simple Booth HALO and Virtual Booth?
HALO is our in-person photo booth app for iPad, designed to run at events, venues, and activations. Virtual Booth is the browser-based version that lets guests participate from their own devices via a link or QR code, perfect for remote and hybrid events. Both run on the same platform and can feed into the same online gallery, so you can run them independently or together.
Do I need multiple tools to design and run an experience?
No. Capture, design, branding, sharing, and analytics all live inside one platform. Build a layout in the Layout Designer, customize the start screen and delivery messages, manage galleries and devices from the same dashboard, and review analytics in one place. You can easily replace several separate tools with Simple Booth.
Can guests use the experience without an attendant?
Yes. Simple Booth is designed so guests can walk up, choose a layout, capture a photo or video, edit, and share, all without needing a staff member to assist. Venues, universities, and brand activations regularly run HALO unattended for hours at a time. And with Virtual Booth, the experience is attendant-free by default. Guests use their own devices via a link or QR code, with no staff or hardware involved at all.
Can guests print photos at the booth?
Yes. Printing is fully supported as an option. Simple Booth works with AirPrint-compatible printers, and you can enable or disable printing per event. Many teams keep printing optional or skip it entirely in favor of instant digital delivery, which is faster, more shareable, and free of consumables. The choice is yours.
Does the software work offline?
Yes, with some exceptions. The app continues capturing photos and videos without Wi-Fi by queuing everything locally. Captures sync to the cloud as soon as the connection returns, and AirDrop delivery keeps working for guests in the meantime. The exception: AI features like background replacement and AI effects require an active internet connection, since the generation happens in the cloud. For venues without reliable Wi-Fi, an iPad with a built-in cellular data plan is a popular workaround.
Can I run the same experience across different events and devices?
Yes. Build a preset once and reuse it across events, locations, or campaigns. Each license runs on one device at a time, and add-on licenses are available for teams running multiple concurrent setups. The cloud dashboard lets you switch presets and update settings remotely.
